Ben got to spend Christmas Eve with my mom and grandparents out in the country while I was at work. Mom told me that he tried staying up late so he could see Santa, but eventually passed right out. I wish I was there to see it! Santa did come, and Ben made a haul Christmas day. He's been into dinosaurs lately so Santa spoiled him. Apparently there are some presents still waiting for him out at Raimund's parent's place so that should make this coming weekend pretty fun.
Do you like that home made Christmas card? One of my grandma's neighbours made it, a little girl who loves cats. She saw that we have a few kitties hanging around outside at Grandma's and thought this would be a fun card to make. I think she nailed it.
Grandpa had another seizure a few weeks ago, so we've been worried about him. He was doing pretty good on Christmas though, which I'm pretty thankful for. Hopefully there won't be anymore seizures for a while!
How was your Christmas? Any good presents?

I'm sorry about your grandad. It sounds like he's on the mend though.

I hope your Grandpa is okay and has no more seizures. I know it can be scary. And I do love the homemade Christmas card. I got some good presents, a few purses, some thrifted clothes, and jewelry. But I really loved all the good food and just having quality time with friends and family...That's really the only reason why I celebrate Christmas! -Jessica L
Our Christmas was low-key and my husband had to go into work Christmas night.
I got some good stuff, though. Mostly Japanese collectible toys. The eternal child that I am. :)

I so understand what you mean about family... (my family is far and spreadout)
That kitty card is awesome! Bless her heart.

I feel the same way - that all the holiday festivity just sort of vanishes after Boxing Day. I've spent the past year reading Sarah Bran Breathnach's "Simple Abundance" (http://www.amazon.ca/Simple-Abundance-Daybook-Comfort-Joy/dp/0446519138), and today's essay is about reconciling the loss all of us feel right about now. It's at this point January's arrival feels kind of depressing (how many more weeks of winter?), so I'm making an effort to make the shift positive and embracing it in every way I can, right away.

I wish Christmas wasn't so short lived too. Such anticipation for months and then before we know it, its gone :(

Your Christmas looked lovely!! I know what you mean about the POOF ITS GONE effect. It's like immediately the day after, life goes on as usual...some people even take their decorations down!!
I do hope your grandfather is better, I lost mine recently & seeing this made me tear up a bit because family can be so awesome & important to us. So I wish you all the best & send positive thoughts your way!
Have a great New Year!
